Great Expectations - Charles Dickens
This classic tale tells of an orphan, Pip, who through a series of strange circumstances first finds a trade as a blacksmith's apprentice and then learns that he has "great expectations" of a future inheritance from an anonymous benefactor. He soon learns to live the profligate life of a gentleman as he gradually sheds his associations with the gentle souls of his past, Joe (the blacksmith) and Biddy (a level-headed young lady). He throws his money at improving the prospects of his roommate and friend Herbert and his heart at an "ice princess" whose heart will never respond. But then an escaped convict from his distant past comes calling, and all Pip's hopes dissolve.
Open with Emma Campbell
In each episode of Open, Emma Campbell (aka @limitless_em) will be joined by a very special guest to have an open hearted and authentic conversation about life’s challenges, triumphs and the messy and magical bits in-between. If the last decade or so has taught Emma anything, it’s that connection is everything and that whatever challenges we may face, if we can share the load with those who get it, if we can open up, feel held and heard then the steps ahead can feel a little less daunting. JessDecolonize(d)
It’s hard being a ratchet nerd. Knowing how to deconstruct Foucauldian theories as well as you can Cardi B’s “Bickenhead” requires pure magic. Truth is, the world would be a much better and safer place if we JessDecolonize(d) the way we talk about and engage sex, politics, education, pop culture, professionalism, and even faith. Welcome to where multi-dimensionality meets intentionality. Welcome to JessDecolonize(d).
