Hello Sunshine from BFF.fm

You put on bff.fm in the background and scramble some eggs on Saturday morning. You stare at your slippers and wonder how many hours you can go before you have to wear shoes. The eggs are gone and you're left with dishes, which take longer to wash than it took you to inhale your hangover food. While you stare into space thinking about the drought in California and how it relates to your sinkful of dishes, the chorus cuts in and you wonder what on earth you're listening to. Where did that hook come from? You're listening to Hello Sunshine! Welcome to the weekend. Cheerful indiepop weekend music, highly likely to include xylophones, handclaps, steel drums, horns, and/or strings crammed into an hour journey through shimmery electropop, precious twee, anthemic americana, and surf wave.

Tuff Signals from BFF.fm

Coastal curated jams from the west & midwest. New garage, indie, punk & whatever else we feel like throwin' down. Jess and Lizzy became friends in 7th grade when Jess passed Lizzy a note in health class asking who she had a crush on and if she wanted to write notes back and forth. Lizzy probably said 'no one' and asked if Jess had listened to the new Oasis/No Doubt/Sarah McLachlan album yet, but we only have the note Jess gave to Lizzy. Then they spent 8th grade trying to win the top nine at 9 contest on their local 'alternative rock' station on Friday nights. Now they've been listening to music, crushing, note passing, and making spaghetti together for almost 20 years and on both the West and Great Lakes Coasts.

B-Side Dreams from BFF.fm

MindShift Podcast

It’s easy to see a child’s education as a path determined by grades, test scores and extra curricular activities. But genuine learning is about so much more than the points schools tally. MindShift explores the future of learning and how we raise our kids. This podcast is part of the MindShift education site, a division of KQED News. You can also visit the MindShift website for episodes and supplemental blog posts or tweet us @MindShiftKQED or visit us at MindShift.KQED.org.
