InOn Health Podcast
Health equity issues in our country have been around for decades – largely impacting communities of color and rural areas. When it comes to economic and racial disparities in health the evidence is clear. This is more than a hot topic. Covid-19 has exposed the underbelly of how social determinants of health and racial disparities play out in our country. What we need now is to impart lasting change.
Welcome to the InOn Health podcast. I’m your host Kaakpema Yelpaala, and I’m the co-founder and CEO of InOn Health.
In this podcast we’re going to be talking about health equity. We’ll be talking to entrepreneurs, thought leaders, investors, and other industry experts in healthcare and public health. The topics we’ll cover will range from racial disparities in health to digital innovation for diverse populations, and ultimately how we build better policy to more inclusively serve everyone around their healthcare needs.
Join me on this podcast series to not only be inspired by our leaders but also to get insight on how we can all take action.

On the Side with Jackie London
Diet myths, wellness trends, and the latest “health hacks” are just about everywhere these days—from your local supermarket to your social media feed. As a registered dietitian (RD), author, journalist, and former clinician-turned-content-creator, debunking diet myths and cutting through the clutter of wellness trends is as natural to me as breathing.
In my podcast, On the Side (hosted by me, Jackie London), we’re getting real about how and why we make decisions about food. It’s my view that getting specific and talking candidly about the realities of our everyday lives is the best place to start when considering how and why we make decisions that affect our wellbeing-- physical and psychological.
Yes, I’m a nutritionist; but I’m also a realist. I make a point of eating candy every single day. I like cream (or ice cream) in my coffee. I (sometimes) skip breakfast. And when I’m less inclined to cook during the week, I’ll (occasionally) use my oven for shoe storage.
Yet, every single day I hear different versions of the same confused, inertia-inducing statements, questions and stories we tell ourselves:
- I’m only eating between the hours of 5PM and 6PM.
- I only eat on Tuesdays and Thursdays.
- Don’t buy those green beans! They have GMO’s!
- Should I try a ketotarian diet?
- I have no willpower.
- I can’t go to dinner with you, I’m on a juice cleanse.
- My trainer told me that I have to cut carbs.
- I’ll have the California Cobb but no bacon, no croutons, no almonds, no avocado, and please...PLEASE, make sure that you bring the dressing ON THE SIDE!
I’ve helped clients reach their personal wellness goals by making bite-sized, hyper-individualized changes that morph into habits—not by uprooting entire ways of life. Instead, by putting into place strategies and game plans that are structured, yet dynamic—working within the realities of your current day-to-day circumstances and by zeroing in on the places that you spend the most time. Now, I’m bringing that experience to you.
Join me each week to dig-in in deep on all things food. I’ll answer your questions, debunk diet myths, explore the latest wellness trends. Plus, we’ll hear from amazing guests who will kick-off each interview with a soup-to-nuts rundown of what they’re eating, cooking, ordering in, and where they’re dining out-- with tons of delicious ideas, lots of laughs and plenty of pro-tips in between.
